Feedback Unit 6

Feedback Unit 6 Hello Zeba, I just wanted to say that I enjoyed your Weebly submission for the Complementary Medicine assignment. Your group made clear the differences between male and female children and their experience and prevalence of anxiety. I was also encouraged that you were able to find so many videos and infographics on yoga specific to children. As a child of the late 60s-70s, I was exposed to yoga through my mother and feel that this practice is undersold in the childhood demographic, not only as it relates to management of anxiety, but childhood development generally. I think a main heading indicating this section of your website is about complementary medicine for women and then introduce yoga and anxiety may be a more in keeping with the assignment requirement. In the interest of accuracy, you open with the thought that anxiety is a “coping mechanism”. I believe it is more of a symptom response to situations, both acute and chronic, that require coping mecha...

Web Activity review for Unit 5: Yoga for Childhood Girls with Anxiety Authors: Zeba Khan, Ashti Paray, Sabrina Edwards, and Christina Martial

Hello Zeba, I am writing to say congratulations on the remarkable work you and your team have done to shed light on the efficacy of yoga as a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) for young girls struggling with anxiety. Your blog post stood out to me for its unique use of color and layout, which were tastefully done without overwhelming the reader. The headings and subheadings were also very helpful in providing context and coherence to your discussion. Moreover, I was impressed by your attention to detail, as there were no grammatical errors, and the information was backed up with references using APA style. The detailed explanations accompanying the videos were also greatly appreciated, as they offered viewers a clear preview of the content. All these aspects combined resulted in a well-crafted and informative piece of content. The information provided reflects the importance and promotion of yoga in childhood as a CAM. It will inspire many other practitioners to ex...

Blog review: Conventional Medicine in Children

Blog review: Conventional Medicine in Children This blog was very interesting to me as I had never heard of Turner Syndrome before. It was very informative and was very specific in how it affects female children, specifically. This review had all the elements such as the description of what Turner syndrome is as well as detailed information about growth hormone therapy. It was interesting to learn that hormone therapy can have several negative side of effects and disadvantages for this population, one being the slipping of the capital femoral epiphysis. All of the heading in this blog were added appropriately and the blog was organized in a way that was easy to read and clear. I did not spot any grammatical errors and the paragraphs were cohesive. I thought it was great how this group added pictures of how a child with Turner syndrome may look, and unique characteristics that could set them apart. The videos were appropriate for the topic and they also had a description und...

Feedback Unit 5

Hello Brittany   I really enjoyed learning more about conventional medicine. You provide detailed and coherent information on the topic presented. I enjoyed about your post is learning more about the diagnosis and how it impacts females in adolescent years. I also enjoyed that you provided a paragraph that shares more information regarding conventional medicine and how it impacts people. You did a great job defining conventional medicine and how it impacts adolescents. You also shared some evidence -based data on how adolescents rely on traditional medicine to make changes in their life. I also enjoyed that the pictures were clearly labels and describes how the pictures are related to the content. The video are also very informative and share quality information regarding adolescents. One thing I noted was that I would add more information regarding how females are impacted daily due to the lifestyle choices they make as well as the impact it has on them. I also think citati...

Feedback 4

Hi Zeba,   Your group’s webpage focusing on the interplay of food and body during the elderly years of the female population was informative. I was able to read the material and digest the information that was provided with ease. I love the use of pictures and videos throughout, they seemed to be strategically placed so that the information provided via text was enhanced. There were a few errors that I came across, and I’m sure it was probably just due to lack of proofreading one last time before submitting. There were some grammatical areas throughout, where words were left out of the sentences (i.e. of/and). I also noticed that under a few of the digital images, the complete reference was underneath instead of just a citation. So even after you’ve checked your work, just check it one more time! With my group, we’ll make sure that everyone reads through the webpage before submitting, but we still miss things sometimes! LOL Despite those few minor mishaps, this webpa...

Blog Review for Website Activity 3 (Elder years) by Sabrina B. Edwards OTR/L, Zeba Khan OTR/L, Ashti Paray, OTR/L, and Christina Martial.

Hello, Zeba; here is a summary review of the website activity you and your teammates wrote on the interplay between food and body. The information included in your website activity was informative and backed up with data and visual representations. The headings leading to the paragraphs also indicate what the paragraph will address.  The fitness guidelines were very informative, with the information in the paragraph linked to falls due to decreased balance and fall prevention through environmental modifications.   Overall, your website activity addressed the points required for this assignment. My recommendation would be to include types of exercises that could improve balance when mentioning safety tips to prevent falls. In addition, some of the wording on the charts are not legible enough. Nonetheless, great job!

Feedback Unit 4-body image/nutrition

Hello Zeba I enjoyed reading your page on older adults and food/ nutrition . The web page is clearly titled and infographs and videos are very informative . The introduction addresses changing needs of older adult women and the food pyramid effectively reflects their age-appropriate nutritional requirements. The video regarding healthy eating in older adults is fabulous. I also liked the infographs regarding sexual diff erences in age related diseases. The fitness guidelines and associated video look great and hit the topic well. The protective factors are done very well and establish the relationship between resilience and social support and food/ nutrition .   H owever, the risk factors content does not seem to be linked to the topic of discussion which for this section was- “ the triggers and pressures that can lead someone to have negative body image and disordered eating among women, and analyzing the relationships between food, body, and health across the...
